Ruth Acker founded AV in 1985 as a financial and management consulting firm specializing in early-stage companies.

Set up accounting, management and marketing systems. Co-managed firm’s investments.

Issued $412 million and took official action on $1.5 billion of tax-exempt and taxable bonds to finance various energy projects. Advised over 100 companies and analyzed 65 transactions. Hired to create the financial and strategic framework for the program. Worked with the president to develop a venture capital program.
